Christopher Sly
Christopher Sly is a man who is easily dominated by women. He is a drunkard and a fool, and he is set up as a foil to Petruchio, the central male character in the play. Petruchio is a strong and assertive man who is able to control his wife, Katharina, while Sly is unable to control any of the women in his life. This contrast between the two men is one of the main sources of humor in the play.
